This concept revolved around the idea that the United States would not interfere in the domestic affairs of other countries (like the Latin American countries). Even though the US would not get involved in their domestic affairs, the US government still desired an economic relationship with these countries. This meant that the US and Latin American countries would still be able to trade goods and services with each other.
