When children realize they will have to go home to complete additional work, they lose interest in being engaged during the day. When work feels never-ending, kids tune out – they are just too exhausted to continue putting their best foot forward, according to some. It is unjust to give homework when many parents work until five o'clock or later and want to spend time with their children rather than battle over schoolwork.
